Why Online Computer Programming Tuition?
Programming gives learners an opportunity to move beyond simply using technology. It introduces them to the thinking behind technology.
Through practical programming activities, learners explore how problems can be understood, broken down and transformed into logical instructions a computer can follow.
Along the way, they have opportunities to develop:
From Technology Consumer to Technology Creator
Instead of asking only, “What can this computer do?”, learners begin asking:
“What can I create with it?”
That shift is at the heart of this programme.
Programming Fundamentals, Using C
Online Introduction to Computer Programming Tuition is a 16-hour introductory holiday programme designed to give learners a practical foundation in computer programming.
Learners use the C programming language to explore fundamental concepts, structured problem-solving and the process of developing simple computer programmes.
The programme is particularly suitable for:
Grade 10 Learners
Interested JSS Learners
Complete Beginners
The approach is learner-centred, practical and competency-focused. Learners are encouraged to apply knowledge, demonstrate skills and solve problems rather than simply memorise information.
What Makes This Programme Different?
The focus is not merely on memorising programming commands. It is on helping learners understand, practise and apply programming concepts in meaningful ways.
Practical Rather Than Theory-Heavy
Learners don’t just listen to explanations. They apply what they learn through guided activities and programming exercises.
We Teach Programming Thinking
Learners practise understanding a problem, planning a solution and turning that solution into a working programme.
Real-World Problem Solving
Programming concepts are connected to familiar situations and simple practical problems learners can understand.
Beginner-Friendly
The programme starts with the foundations and progressively introduces concepts to help learners develop confidence.
Competency-Focused
Activities develop critical thinking, creativity, digital literacy, communication and self-efficacy alongside programming skills.
Project and Activity Based
Learners get opportunities to create, test, correct and explain simple programmes through guided practical work.
Experienced Technology Trainer
The programme is delivered by an experienced trainer and technology practitioner with a background in IT training, education and digital technology.
In Collaboration With CLW
The partnership brings together technology training and child-centred learning, creating an experience designed around the learner.
Meet Your Trainer
Chrispinus Mumia Walloga (aka Pro Chris)
Pro Chris is a Certified Trainer, Digital Transformation Mentor, Tech Consultant and Tech Developer with over 10 years of experience in IT training, academic instruction and digital technology. He is a NITA-certified Training of Trainers (ToT) and has taught and lectured at institutions of higher learning, including Mount Kenya University, as well as previously teaching Computer Science at Kimilili Boys High School.
Beyond formal teaching, Pro Chris has mentored and coached college and university students, helping many develop practical IT skills, work through technology projects and grow into confident technology professionals. He also guides KCSE leavers in exploring career pathways in Computing, Information Technology and Computer Science, while supporting secondary school learners with technology projects and Science & Engineering Congress projects.
For over a year, Pro Chris has also been actively mentoring and coaching JSS learners in schools, helping young learners build confidence, creativity, problem-solving abilities and practical digital skills. Passionate about young people, technology and emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, he brings together the experience of a technology practitioner, the skills of an educator and the heart of a mentor, making him well placed to guide learners from simply using technology to creating, solving and innovating with it.
In Collaboration With Creative Learning World
Technology skills, purposeful learning and learner development come together through the collaboration between ProChris and Creative Learning World.
Creative Learning World (CLW)
Creative Learning World (CLW) is a Kenyan parent-child learning brand that helps children develop curiosity, creativity, confidence and practical skills through purposeful learning experiences. While CLW’s programmes span early learning, Edu-Travel, educational play and parenting, its broader philosophy is simple: help children learn by exploring, creating, doing and connecting learning to real life. This holiday programme brings that philosophy into the digital learning space.
Pro Chris brings the technology expertise: Covering programming, computer applications, graphics and video creation. CLW brings the learner-centred approach: Encouraging curiosity, creativity, confidence, problem-solving and purposeful learning.
For learners aged roughly 12–16, this is an important stage of discovering interests, strengths and possible future pathways. Technology can become more than something they consume — it can become something they create with, solve with and learn through.
Together, Pro Chris & CLW creates a practical holiday learning experience that combines: The goal isn’t simply to teach learners technology. It’s to help them discover what they can do with it.
The Competencies We Develop
This programme is not only about learning C. It is about developing competencies that can support your child’s learning journey across STEM and beyond.
Learners are encouraged to think critically, work through challenges, communicate their ideas and develop confidence through practical programming activities.
The focus is on practical participation, guided discovery and the progressive development of skills — not simply memorising programming terminology.
Our Learning Journey
Rather than simply moving from one programming topic to another, learners are encouraged to follow a repeatable problem-solving process.
Discover
Understand the problem and identify what needs to be solved.
Think
Ask questions, examine the situation and identify the information needed.
Plan
Break the problem into logical steps before writing code.
Code
Turn the planned solution into a simple C programme.
Test
Run the programme and check whether the result matches expectations.
Improve
Identify mistakes, make corrections and improve the solution.
Present
Explain what was created, how it works and what was learned.
Apply
Use the same problem-solving process to approach another practical challenge.
What Could Your Child Create?
Learners will be guided through practical examples and activities that demonstrate how programming concepts can be used to solve simple problems.
- A simple calculator
- Area and perimeter calculators
- An average calculator
- A shopping total calculator
- A learner marks programme
- A simple grading programme
- Pass/fail decision programmes
- Eligibility programmes
- Counting programmes
- Multiplication table programmes
- Simple menu-based programmes
They are opportunities for learners to understand how a problem can be transformed into a working digital solution through logical thinking, planning, coding and testing.
More Than Coding — Skills for Life
What does a parent really want their child to gain from a holiday programme?
Not just another certificate. Not just something to keep them occupied. You want your child to gain useful skills, confidence and meaningful learning experiences.
This programme gives learners opportunities to practise:
The thinking is the skill.
